As some of you may know I’m off, with work, to Everest until the beginning of June. I’ll be trekking and staying at advanced base camp (ABC) on the Tibetan side of the mountain, for one of the more interesting press trips that I’ve been involved with.
The press trip is in support of Motorola (the client) and its sponsorship of Rod Baber to climb to the summit of Everest and set two world records (highest land based mobile call and text). I’m obviously not going to the top but planning to get up to ABC which sits at a nose bleed enduing 6,400m. But give a thought to Rod who is hoping to make it to 8848m.
I’m hoping to be able to update this blog with details of my progress and with pictures from my trip and will return to the normal pr/social media/tech topics on my return… In the meantime if you want to find out about Rod and how he’s getting on then the Discovery Channel (who are documenting the expedition that Rod is a member of) has a great blog up and running outlining the progress on the mountain.
I fly out to
Katmandu and begin my acclimatization on Monday…
