The eminent techy journo Om Malik has decided to sit back and let his readers decide on predictions for 2007… Well worth a read and go and have your say – personally i think ‘mobile graffiti’ will be an interesting development to look out for. I can see companies like Yelp spreading into Europe and possibly via partnerships with the likes of Loopt give customers the ability to leave short messages/reviews/comments via mobile/GPS devices fixed to a specific location in real time… i.e. I’m in the pub and the band are great. Fellow users of the service would be able to see what is going on in the area and actually get a feel for what is good/bad, far more use than a static review. Neat, and potentially very powerful.
