I was interested to read in today’s Guardian that scientists in
Tokyo have managed to build written messages, using binary, into living DNA. This is a breakthrough that they believe could lead to a new (and much heralded) era of organic computers which would be capable of healing themselves if damaged.
DNA is much hyped as being the new “hard-disc” as it is far more robust, has the potential of storing far more data and of course can pass on data to future generations. It seems the primary aim of this research project is to create living memories for a new breed of DNA computers that can perform complex calculations.  The future becomes a reality.Science never ceases to amaze me.
