Thanks to John for posting today on the story about Boy Scouts in LA being able to earn a ‘respecting copyrights’ activity badge. To earn this scouts must complete various workshops, tasks and course work all aimed at educating them on the issue of IP theft. So that’s Archery, Bakery, Knot-tieing and now spot the knock-off DVD – how the times are changing…
It does seem to me to be a clever PR exercise from the movie industry to generate editorial inches and build awareness of copyright theft (not always an easy issue to get people interested in).
